New Student Enrollment for 2020-21 School Year

If your child is new to Ingenuity Prep and enrolling for the first time, see the steps below to confirm your child’s seat. Please note, this section is only for those students who were offered seats from the lottery or waitlist. Steps to Confirm Your Child’s Seat at Ingenuity Prep -- Deadline: June 15, 2020

All of the following steps were included in the New Student Enrollment Packet, which can be downloaded here.

Due to the COVID-19 closure, we have made all enrollment requirements able to be completed electronically. We request that all forms are completed at home via computer or phone. Documents may be submitted to

New Student Enrollment Office Hours: Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m

Step 1:

Complete the Ingenuity Prep enrollment forms here. (Online only)

This form can only be completed online through the link provided above. Prior to completing the forms, you will be asked to log in. Your login username is the same email address you used to complete your application materials on My School DC. If you did not use an email address, your username is the phone number you provided to My School DC when applying. Your password was shared via email. If you are unsure of your password or did not receive an email, please call us at (202) 562-0391.

Step 2:

Submit the required student health documents, birth certificate, and parent ID. (Online or email to

Health, Dental, and Immunization documents are required for all students. Copies of each form can be easily obtained from your student’s doctor and dentist. Copies of these forms are provided in the New Student Enrollment Packet.

Step 3:

Provide proof of D.C. residency. (Email to

This step is required by law to be conducted by all D.C. schools. The D.C. Residency Verification Guide can be found in the New Student Enrollment Packet. During the COVID-19 closure, residency may be submitted via email to

Please note that Ingenuity Prep staff will review all documents submitted and may request additional documentation or require that documents submitted electronically are re-submitted in person. Students will not be enrolled until residency verification documents are accepted.

Step 4:

Attend a New Student Parent Meeting. (Online)

Two dates were offered in April. If you were unable to attend, please view the All Students video and the Academy video(s) for your family and complete the activity in the Academy video link. Please plan about an hour to watch both videos and complete the activity.

Step 5

Sign the My School DC Seat Acceptance Form. (Online only)

The signing of this form marks the last step in confirming your student’s enrollment for the 2020-21 school year. By signing this form, your child will forfeit their seat for the 2020-21 school year at their currently enrolled school (if applicable) and their spot on the waitlist of lower-ranked schools (if applicable).

The My School DC Seat Acceptance Form has been added to SchoolMint with other registration forms. You do not need to complete a separate paper or digital form.

Failure to complete all steps by the deadline will result in a loss of the seat made available to your student.
