Instructional Leadership

Ingenuity Prep’s Principal for K-2nd Grade will lead teams of teachers across six classrooms in cultivating joyous, robust cultures and rich, rigorous instructional practice that will reverse the achievement and opportunity gaps for Ingenuity Prep’s students.  

S/he will report to Ingenuity Prep’s CEO and will, in collaboration with the CEO and Ingenuity Prep leadership team, have responsibility for executing on and, where necessary, evolving the existing visions of excellence that drive adult practice across the organization.

In this role — and in support of Ingenuity Prep’s students and families — s/he will manage a caseload of teachers, be supported by a Vice Principal, and collaborate with a range of instructional support and student and family support staff, including a K-4 School Culture Coordinator, a K-4 Literacy Coordinator, and a K-4 Math Coordinator.  The Principal’s role will be primarily instructionally-focused, as operational work at the school will be led by a site Director of Operations, who will report directly to Ingenuity Prep’s Chief Operating Officer.

Developmental opportunities in this position may include participation in Relay’s National Principals Academy Fellowship, attendance at Teach Like a Champion train-the-trainer workshops, consultation with leading curriculum and instructional consultants, and participation in several communities of practice composed of D.C. charter instructional leaders.

Ingenuity Prep’s Vice Principal for PreK will, in collaboration with the Principal for PreK, lead teams of teachers across six classrooms in cultivating joyous, robust cultures and rich, developmentally-appropriate instructional practice that will reverse the achievement and opportunity gaps for Ingenuity Prep’s students.  

In this role — and in support of Ingenuity Prep’s students and families — s/he will manage a caseload of teachers and support the PreK Principal in the delivery of professional development.

The Vice Principal’s role will be primarily instructionally-focused, as operational work at the school will be led by a site Director of Operations, who will report directly to Ingenuity Prep’s Chief Operating Officer.

Developmental opportunities in this position may include participation in Relay’s National Principals Academy Fellowship, attendance at Teach Like a Champion train-the-trainer workshops, consultation with leading curriculum and instructional consultants, and participation in several communities of practice composed of D.C. charter instructional leaders.

As Ingenuity Prep opens additional sites in Southeast D.C. in the coming years, this individual will be considered a primary candidate for future PreK principalships.

In this role — and in support of Ingenuity Prep’s students and families — s/he will manage a caseload of teachers and collaborate with a range of instructional support and student and family support staff.  The Vice Principal’s role will be primarily instructionally-focused, as operational work at the school will be led by a site Director of Operations, who will report directly to Ingenuity Prep’s Chief Operating Officer.

Specific responsibilities for the role will depend on the individual’s prior background and expertise.

In this role, s/he will report to Ingenuity Prep’s CEO and will, in collaboration with the CEO and Ingenuity Prep leadership team, have responsibility for executing on and, where necessary, evolving the existing cultural visions of excellence that drive adult practice across the organization.  The role will include opportunities for direct coaching of teachers, collaboration with classroom teams, and delivery of culture-focused professional development to larger groups of teachers and staff.

Developmental opportunities in this position may include participation in Relay’s National Principals Academy Fellowship, attendance at Teach Like a Champion train-the-trainer workshops, consultation with leading curriculum and instructional consultants, and participation in several communities of practice composed of D.C. charter instructional leaders.

Ingenuity Prep’s Instructional Coordinator for K-4th Grade Literacy will, in collaboration with school leadership, ensure the cultivation of joyous, robust cultures and rich, rigorous instructional practice that will reverse the achievement and opportunity gaps for Ingenuity Prep’s students.  

In this role, s/he will report to Ingenuity Prep’s CEO and will, in collaboration with the CEO and organization’s principals, have responsibility for executing on and, where necessary, evolving the existing literacy visions of excellence that drive teacher practice across the organization.  

The role will include opportunities for direct coaching of teachers, collaboration with teams of literacy-specialized teachers, and delivery of literacy-focused professional development to larger groups of teachers. Additionally, the role will oversee the curation of literacy curriculum.  The role will not include direct responsibility for writing curriculum.

In this role, s/he will report to Ingenuity Prep’s CEO and will, in collaboration with the CEO and organization’s principals, have responsibility for executing on and, where necessary, evolving the existing math visions of excellence that drive teacher practice across the organization.  

The role will include opportunities for direct coaching of teachers, collaboration with teams of math-specialized teachers, and delivery of math-focused professional development to larger groups of teachers.  Additionally, the role will oversee the curation of math curriculum.  The role will not include direct responsibility for writing curriculum.
