Teaching

Teachers in PreK classrooms at Ingenuity Prep work with a classroom team in support of students’ academic and social-emotional development.

Teachers share small and large group instructional responsibilities, engaging and partnering with families, executing the school’s curriculum, gathering and analyzing a range of formative and benchmark assessment data, and using that data to inform data-driven interventions and instructional modifications.

Ingenuity Prep’s teacher career ladder rewards effective performance over time, as PreK teachers advance up the following ladder: Teacher → Established Teacher → Advanced Teacher → Distinguished Teacher → Expert Teacher.  Higher levels on the ladder earn higher levels of base compensation, bonuses, and professional privilege such as special professional development opportunities.  Teachers who demonstrate the highest levels of effectiveness move most rapidly up the ladder.

Teachers with emerging adult leadership skills who demonstrate the strongest capacity to build strong classroom cultures and drive exemplary academic gains are selected as “Class Leads.”  In this role, they lead their classroom team and provide mentoring and modeling to early career teachers on their team.

This position is currently filled for the 2017-18 school year. The application for this position for the 2018-19 school year will open in January of 2018.
