Family Guidance

Ingenuity Prep is working hard to help ensure that high quality learning continues for all of our students and that all students are able to access online learning materials. We also know that some students may need access to non-online alternatives.  Below is a brief summary of what to expect from each grade level.

Pre-K

If you have access to technology and internet

  • If you have internet and access to a computer, tablet or smartphone, please plan to login to Clever to complete the day’s assignments.  Instructions for logging into Clever can be found in the “Accessing Online Learning” section below.
  • Once logged into Clever, click on your child’s homeroom, open the folder for the day and move through the materials with your child.

If you do not have access to technology and internet

  • If you do not have access to technology please plan to pick up a weekly packet. Packets with the current week’s lessons are available for pick-up at school from 8am-2pm on weekdays.

Learning Kits

  • Supplemental materials are also available to help families successfully complete daily lessons.  These kits were sent home with students on 3.12.20. If you did not receive a kit, they are available for pick-up at school from 8am-2pm on weekdays outside the 3rd-5th grade entrance.

Internet and Technology Support

Home Internet Access

To support families during school closings, Comcast is offering 60 days of free internet service through its Comcast Internet Essentials program.  No credit check or contract is required, and after the first 60 days, the plan is only $9.95/month. Families can sign up for this service here.  We will also have a sign-up station outside the 3rd-5th grade school entrance during the hours of 8am-1pm.

Public Internet Access

AT&T and Comcast are both providing free access to hotspots located around the city. Wherever you are, look at the available internet connection options. If you are in range of one of these hotspots, you will see free AT&T internet or Xfinity Free Wifi in the list of options. You can join these connections without needing to sign up or create an account.

Chromebooks

If your family does not currently have access to a computer or tablet, Ingenuity Prep will be permitting you to borrow a school issued chromebook for use during our school’s closure. Chromebooks will be available for pick-up at school from 8am-1pm on weekdays outside the 3rd-5th grade entrance.

Please note the following important steps:

  • All chromebooks must be signed out by a student’s parent or legal guardian.  Student’s may not pick up a chromebook on their own.
  • Parents will be asked to sign a Chromebook Use Agreement, covering the terms for borrowing the device from Ingenuity Prep.
