Rev. Dr. Nicole A. Johnson-Douglas
Rev. Dr. Nicole A. Johnson – Douglas is a native Washingtonian and a servant leader for all. She is a product of the District of Columbia, attending Emery Elementary School, Shaw Junior High School and a graduate of School Without Walls Senior High School. Upon completing her studies in the District, she studied at Bennett College for Women (B.A. – Political Science), George Washington University (MPA), George Washington University (PhD Public Administration and Policy; Policy and Planning), University of Maryland (Non-Profit and Corporation Management).
Nicole has served the people of the District of Columbia at the Department of Employment Service, Office of Youth Programs, the Office of 2 former Council Members, the Department of Human Service, DCPS, OSEE, and DCPCSB. In addition, she served as Senior Executives at various nonprofit organizations that focused on Human Services, Family Homeless Services, Youth Programming, Education Policy and Education. Through her love for people, she currently serves as the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of A Ray of Hope Family Resource Center, a faith based organization in SE DC, where resources and services are rooted in FAITH, LOVE, PEACE and HOPE. She offers FREE Family Law Consultations and Referrals to families in the District of Columbia. It is also her dream to open a school in the District of Columbia in the future. On Sunday, May 28, 2017, she received her first Pastoral Appointment, and currently serves as the Pastor of Deliverance Temple A.M.E. Zion Church in SE, Washington, DC. She is an out of the box kind of preacher who is concerned about doing kingdom work and taking the church to the next level. She also currently serves as the Founder and Principal Consultant of D’Vine Touch Professional Consulting.
She is very involved in the community wherever she may be. She has served as two term Youth Mayor of the District of Columbia from 1998 – 2000. She is a product of The Mayor’s Youth Leadership Institute in the District of Columbia. She has belonged to the following organizations and has served on the following boards American Association of University Women, National Council of Negro Women, Stand for Children Campaign, and National Association for the Advancement of Colored People. During the 2016 Election Cycle, she successfully managed three campaigns for individuals running in the DC Local Political Contest; of which all three were elected.
She is also an Independent Consultant for Scentsy as well as an Independent Consultant for Thirty-One Gifts and use these opportunities to share and minister and empower women specifically but to encourage and strengthen all with the gift of love. In her free time, you may find her crafting and designing gift baskets or planning events and/or weddings.
She has received many awards in her life. She has received the Key to the City of Columbia, South Carolina as well as the key to the city of Greensboro, NC.
She is a world class traveler that has had the privilege to travel and learn in the following overseas countries: Bolivia, Brazil, the continent of Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Namibia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Greece, France, and England. She is a product of the People to People Student Ambassador Program.
She is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, initiated in April 2002 in the Zeta Xi Chapter, Bennett College and is currently a member of the Upsilon Tau Omega Chapter in Fort Washington, MD.
Nicole is married to Rev. W. Ray W. Douglas, Jr. and they have been blessed to have two children, Rayah and Rayghan who are scholars at Ingenuity Prep Charter School. In addition, she has been blessed with other children who she has been able to have a fingerprint on their lives, including her oldest goddaughter, Aniya Simone.
