Due to nationwide delays in Chromebook delivery, we have had to further update our plan for Chromebook pick-up. The changes from what we communicated on 8.12 are as follows:
- 1st – 7th Grade: No change from 8.12 communication
- Pre-K – Kindergarten: Pick-up supplies and Chromebooks on 8.27 or 8.28.
It is important that all families pick up a Chromebook for each of their student(s). Unlike last Spring, using an Ingenuity Prep Chromebook will be a required part of our virtual academic program.
Families must complete the family survey and technology agreement here before picking up a Chromebook.
Please wear a mask when you come to pick up materials and practice social distancing.
If you still have your Chromebook from last year, you must use it for the upcoming year. If the Chromebook is broken, please bring it during your academy pick up time to receive a new one. If it is lost, please let us know during your academy pick up time and we will provide a new one. Starting this year, students with lost or broken Chromebooks will pay a fee to replace or repair the Chromebook.
Should you or your student experience technical problems during virtual learning, we will provide tech support via email. If you experience Chromebook challenges such as sound not working, broken buttons, or trouble logging in, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your student’s name, your contact information, and a description of the problem. A member of our team will respond to your email within 24 business hours (Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.) to help identify a solution.
Ingenuity Prep is launching a new Attendance and Engagement Policy! Students will be marked Engaged or Not Engaged for every class block — so teachers and parents can identify trends when a student is missing a particular block of the day, like Math.

The SY20-21 Family Handbook is now available! Please review the Addendum at the beginning of the Handbook for updates that are specific to Virtual Learning and COVID precautions. The full Handbook is included in this document immediately after the Addendum.
Since deciding to start the school year virtually, Ingenuity Prep has been looking for ways to support families and enrich student’s virtual learning experiences. After much consideration, we have determined that we will not be able to provide any in-person supervised virtual learning at school, but want to provide a way for families to support each other during this time.
Please complete this survey if you are interested in forming a “pod” with one or more Ingenuity Prep families. A “pod” is a small group of families that come together to do virtual learning and or support each other with childcare while school remains virtual.
Families who complete this survey will get access to the information of others who complete the survey and will be invited to join a private Facebook group where they can communicate with other families who have expressed interest in forming a “pod”. If you are interested, please complete the survey as soon as possible so that we can maximize the number of connections for potential “pods”. The survey will close on September 4th.
Please note that Ingenuity Prep is only connecting interested families to each other, we will not be responsible for monitoring any “pods” that form out of those connections. We encourage interested families to do their own due diligence before deciding to form a “pod” with one another.

During Back to School Night, you will learn more about the upcoming school year and virtual learning as well as meet academy leaders, preview virtual learning platforms, review attendance policies, understand student expectations, and more!
